This is a very frustrating ongoing problem. When I am supposed to translate by tapping the words in "bubbles", the bubbles will either not work at all, leading me to have to quit and forfeit all of the work that I've done up to that point, because I can't move on from the exercise, or only one or two bubbles will go up, and no other bubbles will move, meaning that I lose points for getting it "wrong", even though the bubbles wouldn't move. it's fun to learn stuff, I just wish the friends challenge was easier to navigate. I chose someone who wasn't very active and couldn't cancel. I ended up unfollowing that friend because it wasn't fair they did nothing and benefitted. also, some of the review tasks to get hearts can be repetitive. That's a good opportunity to review stuff I'm week on. I also think most of the translation tasks should be type in, because I will select a word and not realize it didn't register.May 15, 2024 05:03:02

The gamification of learning makes it easier to stick to, but it's very foundational. For the paid version I would have hoped for some more comprehensive learning material. AVOID!!! Not suitable for beginners, only for someone who has basic grammar skills. I really wanted to learn Spanish but after a 800 day streak I have given up as this method of no explanations, just repetitions just doesn't work for me as a beginner and frustrated me. Even the full version doesn't allow you to learn in your own time as you get punished if you don't do it daily and miss out on boosts if you can't learn during their dictated times. I play a lesson to get the early bird xp boost, claim it and it never applies to my lessons. Just gives me regular 10-15 points instead of double. Being in the diamond league after 73 days. This feels like it's setting me up for failure. I always get double ads only when I have a XP boost and never when I just regularly play. Here's 15 minutes of boost but really it's 8 minutes because of double ads that I can't skipMay 13, 2024 12:11:05

Overall, it's a great app. The courses are getting better and better, I've noticed. My only complaint is that the voices that read to you are ai. The ai has a very had time with certain pronunciations. If you're planning on learning french, be aware that you'll want to use other sources for how you pronounce words. I know paying people to voice over the course would be expensive, but it would be so helpful.May 12, 2024 13:44:18
