Tried to watch the VP Debate via Chromecast using this app. Not a good experience. Took a long-time to connect, and the video kept freezing. Every time I tried to reconnect, I had to watch the same very intrusive 30-second ad. Who would have expected ads to be just as intrusive on PBS as on the major commercial networks? Imo, app should keep track of what users try to watch... Also, I can't find any way to share videos from the app. No share icons. Have to Google show and share from Chrome.Jul 06, 2024 13:24:38

The newer version of the app running on my Android 8 TV box, now struggles to stream the shows. After the advertisement plays, it gets a video error. To get around this, I will click on play/resume as many as 9 times until there are no more ads, then the video will play. Tried signing out of the app, rebooting the TV box but the issue persists. Very helpful way to stream hundreds of quality programs. App seems very stable (been using 6 months). Plays well with Chromecast. Two areas for improvement: 1. Add Back and Forward skip buttons in player 2. Fix the browsing defect (looking for stuff to watch) so that when you go back from a specific title, you are not launched to some semi-random screen, thus losing your place.Jul 06, 2024 07:28:48

The panels and navigation are simple but elegant. One glaring issue: the navigation panel stays bright white the whole time. I have to cover it with a piece of dark tape. I hate having to watch the add again if i have to stop and come back to it. After the last update its getting stuck on loading a different menu but that might be my phone. I have the app on my phone and iPad. On my iPad there are playback options like rewind 10secs but on my Android no, which makes it hard and a bit annoying to watch as I want h many things on my phone. I'd rather just watch it on my TV which limits when I can watch it such as if you are on the go or in the car. Other than that I love the shows and documentaries!!! It is convenient to be able to access PBS content on demand. The recent addition of local PBS station content is also appreciated. I'm glad that there is an effective search facility, as the content categories seem somewhat arbitrary. One thing that needs definite improvement is the ability to pause or replay content without extensive buffering/delays/freezes when trying to resume play.Jul 04, 2024 12:14:57
